Microbreweries can be an important player when it comes to enhancing a neighborhood with a place for families and friends to get together for food, fun and conversation. When it comes time to build a new hospitality offering, Whirlwind Steel has become the partner of choice for the brewing community. With projects all around Texas, Whirlwind has partnered to build four venues just here in Houston.

One great example is the Vallenson’s Brewing Company, a family-owned brewery that has won numerous awards in brewing competitions. Starting with their first Whirlwind-manufactured building in 2017, they had outgrown the facility and decided to expand. When Valle, the owner of Vallenson’s, had to decide who to work with for his new extension and wanting another high-quality building, he called his sales manager at Whirlwind, mentioning that their previous experience with Whirlwind had been exceptional.

When planning the extension, Valle wanted to ensure that there was an easy way for food trucks to get to the backyard area. Whirlwind provided him with two ten-foot rolling doors parallel to each other in the hallway, connecting the brewery and new bar areas. It also allows for easy delivery of supplies by supply trucks. The new Vallenson’s building has a unique horseshoe design to wrap around an outdoor patio area. While the original building holds all the material and supplies to brew their next award-winning beer. Choosing Hawaiian Blue for the outside wall and a Cool White roof with Cool White trim to match, Vallenson’s now stands out against the stucco buildings nearby.

Having started with just enough space for their brewing equipment, a bar, and a few visitor tables, Vallenson’s now offers plenty of room for their growing clientele and many more food choices due to the access of local food trucks to join the party. The core values that have driven the success of Vallenson’s are the same ones Whirlwind Steel espouses, simply that we do more than brew beer or make metal buildings.
