Nestled along Highway 71 in the heart of Texas, the family-owned Berdoll Pecan Candy & Gift Company has provided goods for 39 years across the US from the Rockies to local favorites such as Buc-ee’s and H-E-B.
Jared and Jennifer Wammack have owned the company for over ten years after purchasing it from Jennifer’s father. In the company’s recent years of business, their growth continued and with it came the need for facility expansions.
The family decided to purchase the first of two metal buildings in 2012 to accommodate the process for producing candied pecans, pecan pies as well as shelling and storage. The building is 50 foot wide by 175 foot long standing at 20 foot tall toting our Patriot Red wall panels with Cool White roofing, gutters and trim.
As business grew, a second building was needed for climate-controlled storage in 2017. Jared called on Whirlwind once again to provide one that would be a 40 foot by 70 foot at 20 feet high, identical to the colors of their larger building.
When it came to why Jared chose Whirlwind, he stated that “after several conversations with competitors, choosing Whirlwind was the best decision for our new processing plant and storage facility. The virtual 3D building model tool was perfect in selecting our options and being able to see what could build. Beyond that, the team at Whirlwind handled everything accordingly in order to get us not only a functional building but great looking one as well.”
